Days like these are why I think I'm being pushed into being a conspiracy theorist.
Today was my one year review at work. As it turned out, it was all good and I even got a tiny raise... but I still get all kinds of nervous about reviews.
When I got home, Mom was sick. I don't know if I'm more worried about her because she's stayed in bed until noon for three days or annoyed because she asked me to pick her up cigarettes and milk... and then couldn't call and leave a message on my answering machine to let me know I should also pick up something for dinner since she didn't feel like cooking. So at 5:30, I'm here with a child to feed, no dinner started or even planned and no idea what to make. (She said she didn't want anything.... which is probably a good thing.)
I made it fun... Emily and I got in the kitchen and cooked... she made macaroni and cheese and I made vegetables... but still, I was hungry before I got home and by the time I planned and made dinner, I had a headache.
I wish I could have a back rub...
