wren08Things that made me happy today-
I have too much Fudge Truffle Cheesecake for the office party tomorrow so the barebottom cheesecake has to stay home.
Anna doing the backstroke across the carpet because she has gone into heat and doesn't know how to deal with it.
Emily's intake caseworker for having a ADHD child herself.
(Caseworker Cathy- "Emily, does anyone in your home use drugs or alcohol?"
Emily- "Oh sure, Mom does... all the time."
Caseworker- "Oh? And what kind of drugs does Mom use?"
Emily- "Well, she smokes... and she has at least three cups of coffee every morning... and when we have Marchand de Vin she has Bitch."
Caseworker- "Bitch?"
Me- "It's a wine. And we have Marchand de Vin about every two weeks."
Caseworker- "Well, Emily I suspect that Mom needs that glass of wine!"
and another bit
Caseworker- "Emily, how stable is your home-life?"
Emily- "Oh, it's not stable at all!"
Caseworker- "In what way?"
Emily- "Mom's always yelling."
Caseworker- "And what does she yell about?"
Emily- "Oh, you know, stuff. Clean your room, eat, take a bath, get dressed... that kind of stuff."
Caseworker (laughing)- "And I guess you don't like to clean your room very much, do you?"
Thank goodness she didn't take Emily's blurts at face value!!
The story behind the cheesecake is that one of the boys who asked me to make another cheesecake and bring it in signed up for the office party... to bring cheesecake. Um, yeah... ok. When I asked him, he said that he did know I was planning to also. !!!! Ok, so it's the war of the cheesecake, is it? He'd better prepare to be creamed because I'm taking two fudge truffle cheesecakes and one "Positively Sinful Cheesecake" made with Frangelica liqueur. Humph. So there. No wet-behind-the-ears boy is going to beat me making cheesecake!!
And as soon as the cheesecakes are done, I'm for bed because I got up this morning at 2:45 and was afraid to go back to sleep for fear of missing my alarm.
