I had to run straight back out when I got home because Bitsy has broken her leg and cut it rather badly. She'll be at the vet all night and maybe all night tomorrow too.
She didn't come running to meet me which is a bit unusual but not horribly so and then Mom called to tell me that she was making her way across the back yard very slowly. I should think so! When I picked her up, I could see the nasty cut (not too deep, thankfully) and her left hind leg swung out at a totally unnatural angle. I carried her back to mom's house and yelled to her that I was taking Bits to the vet now! and sent Emily back to her house. I carried her carefully back to my car, making sure not to hold onto anything that could bump that bone, and ran in the house to get keys.
$1500 later, she's a lot more comfortable, they'll be putting a pin in her leg in the morning but for now she's not in pain and she's sedated.
As I was leaving the vet, I looked in one of the other treatment rooms because I thought I recognized someone- sure enough, the woman who shares the morning shift with me was there with a very very sick cat. I am positive I know what we'll be talking about Monday morning. I hope it's cheerful- the cat's prognosis is "guarded" to quote the vet. So if anyone has a candle to spare this weekend, the BiLo pets could use it!
When I got home again, I have an awesome Browncoat T-shirt in my mail! Aw sweetie! Thank you! I hope it doesn't shrink though- you seem to think I am smaller than I am :D *massive hugs*
