Day 2159 State of the Wren
Jan. 29th, 2010 07:36 amWell, my day off did not go exactly as planned. I didn't get my car worked on nor did I finish the quilt square I'm working on but I did get my taxes done.
I also seem to be lucking up on quite a lot of things this week- 3 bars of the discontinued soap I like, 2 of the bath bombs... and a copy of the DVD of The Color of Magic at McKay's! I also scored several books I've been looking for and two packs of flash cards for Emily. Weirdly, the flash cards seem to be working.... I had left them until now because flash cards failed so abysmally with Eliz. Just goes to show- no two children are alike.I also found 11 of the Milky Way limited editions that I love and a bag of really good coffee.
The puppy is not only not house-broken, the poor thing has diarrhea. Probably from being starved and then having lots of food. A friend at work is supposed to bring me a book on housebreaking dogs- I've never done it before- and I am planning to get rid of the carpet this spring anyway. So things could be worse... the puppy is managing to confine it to the living room where the carpet is already ruined instead of my nice rug in the library or my bedside rug. She's hardly use that anyway since that's where she sleeps. The cats are adjusting. On the upside, I doubt she has worms although when she goes to the vet for her shots, I'll have her wormed anyway.
But this definitely means I have to get rid of the carpet this year- waiting is not an option now.
