James Bond Jr. This first book is really very good- fast paced and occasionally extremely funny. Alex Rider looses his uncle, who turns out to be a spy, and agrees to take his place. Fortunately for him, his uncle has been training him up to be a spy for years without his even knowing it. So, after this book, we have set in place a 14 year old schoolboy who lives alone except for his housekeeper and occasionally has secret missions for Her Majesty's Government- covered by notes from a doctor about extreme cases of flu or the like. This should be a really fun series for children who like adventure. I would call it a boy's book except that it was my daughter who gave it to me.
