Day 2648 Happy: Day Secondus

I didn't think I would have anything actually happy to post today. Yes, I got Emily an appointment with a councilor. Yes, I got it for day after tomorrow instead of Jan 6th... but I'm sorry... those things don't actually make me happy in a warm fuzzy kind of way, they make me happy in a grim sort of a way.

But... when I got back from lunch at work (which I spent calling the school and the crisis manager and the councilor intake and my mom), our floral manager had put a water picked pink rose at my station. She's a complete sweetheart and she saw I was badly off today and had this one she was going to have to get rid of... so she talked to a manager and got them to let her give it to me instead of throwing it away. The nicest thing about the gesture is that she's going through some hard times right now too.

Mom and Em had a pretty good day although Em was inclined to smart off to me and try to get under my skin. I didn't let it happen and I made her mind me without resorting to loosing my temper... and even without having to confiscate any of her privileges. Score one for the Mom!

Then 80s came out and brought The Dark Knight for me to watch. I really wanted to see that too! So that's another happy thing... 3 happy things on a generally stressful day, I couldn't ask for better than that.

I have always said I am the luckiest person I know...

Day 2647 Happy Posting- the Trilogy

Things that made me very happy today-

Having the kids at work beg me to make them another cheesecake :D

A delicious cuppa coffee *yum* :D

A quilting magazine to read at home with an idea to make my brown jenkins quilt not look like argyle in it. (?! :D)

An online quilting magazine, Down Under Quilts, with bunches their back issues available on line! :D :D

And my Rabbits Prefer Chocolate patterns in the mail :D :D :D :D
(I'm thinking I can use some of the fabrics from my Box o' Chocolates stash for it... and the Mountain Mist Dancing Daffodils pattern to make the tulips into daffodils which I associate with spring even more... except for the on that is three on a stem... those I think already look like Lily-of-the-Valley so I'll make them that and make them in white.)

And one from last night I forgot to mention... seeing the video to She Blinded Me With Science again! :D :D :D
