I have made a grievous error.
I just turned the quilt so that I could finish the bottom two borders... which is all I have left on a project that has taken me almost three years... and I am going to be two inches short of backing and batting. Arrrrrrrgh!
Oh, I can fix it... when I get to where the backing and batting ends, I can take it off the frame and add a two inch strip and finish the quilting. But the mend will show... even if I put the hanging sleeve over that end, it will show. So it won't be fit to hang and show at the fair or anywhere else and I'll be embarrassed instead of pleased to show it off to anyone. I could cry.
Other than that, I feel like I'm in limbo. I still have two days left before I jump jobs and that is very unsettling. To cap it off, I told Chip that I was turning in my keys as of first thing Wednesday morning (I don't want to be blamed for anything that happens after that) and he was surprised. Apparently when he asked me to work on through Saturday, my "No, I won't." didn't register because it wasn't what he wanted to hear. As it is, my two week notice has been almost three weeks, enough is enough and I have to be elsewhere on Friday morning. (What am I going to do, open up the car wash.. run it for a couple of hours then go open up the massage office and run it until time to go close the car wash? I'm switching jobs to reduce stress in my life!)
I started the proactiv skin system this morning, I'll let you know how it goes...
I am also looking for a copy of "The Littlest Witch" by Joanne Massey. I remember it fondly and I have found the perfect fabric for the special veil that the spiders weave for her so I want Emily to dress up as the Littlest Witch. It is also a witch-friendly book... I'm not going to indoctrinate her to the 'all witches are bad and evil' when I have so very many friends who are pagan or wiccan.
Not that we're going Trick-or-Treating after the fiasco of last year... but Em still want to dress up, even just to watch a movie and carve a pumpkin (and make pumpkin pie and popcorn... ) She's kin to her Mama... I always loved dressing up for Halloween. Or school plays. Or Science Fiction conventions. Or any other excuse I could come up with!
Okay, I'm a little better now. I can fix it and the front will be beautiful anyway... and it will be warm and comfortable. But I would like to know how it is that everyone else's quilts seem to turn out perfectly and there's always a bit I have to repair or fiddle with or something. Upsetting, that.
