I'm quite a bit frustrated with Ryan. Yesterday I told him that, since rain is predicted for both today and tomorrow and it's the last two days I will have with the girls in school, I could use some extra time off to work on this room. His reply was that no, he was going to take a half day today and all day tomorrow. Grrr. He could take all day Saturday and Monday and I wouldn't care but I think it's mean of him to take the last two school days when it doesn't impact him like it does me. And I do so hate being stuck at work doing nothing when there's so much here I need to do!
Today is my Mom's birthday so I spent part of last night pre-fixing dinner. I should be able to put it on the table 30 minutes after I get home and still have a great home-cooked meal. Pre-planning, that's all it takes.
I still need to weed and mulch the rose garden... I don't know when I'll have time for that but it has to be done.
I did find some really great dinky 4 oz ball-mason jars yesterday when I was shopping for stuff for dinner tonight. I got a dozen and will get more every time I can spare some from my paycheck... they're going to make great jam and jelly gift jars at Christmas!
I also splurged hugely on myself and ordered a copy of Stranger in a Strange Land (mine has gone missing and was falling apart anyway) in a leather binding. There's also a copy of Ringworld that I'm considering. It's not one of my very favorites but it's a good book and the price (for a leather binding) is well nigh irresistible!
