Day 4733: Hail
Apr. 22nd, 2005 09:08 pmHail... we have hail. We also have a toad-strangler of a thunderstorm going on right now (yes, I know. I should not be on line. So sue me. If I fry the modem, I'm the one who has to pay for a new one and change it.)
I will be so glad when Elizabeth gets tired of this new boyfriend she has. She has been mouthy, more that usually inconsiderate... etc etc. She informed me tonight that she was going out (note: not asked... told) and when I asked her where she said "Downtown." My response was "Oh. Okay. When you haven't shown back up after three days that's what I'll put in the police report.
And you need to give me back the lunch money I gave you on Wednesday (she has a free lunch at the school if she would eat it... she won't.) because I don't pay for lunch for my roommates. You also need to do your share of the chores which you haven't done in two weeks.
Or, if you'd rather be my daughter, I need to know where you are going, with whom, when you plan to return and a phone number."
Oddly enough, I now have a list of things she is potentially planning to do this weekend, with whom, where and a number to call if she's late. Damn! That's worth the $10!
She's having trouble with my mom too. Mom has taken to unplugging her phone line that goes into our house every night at about 8 to 9 pm because otherwise Elizabeth gets on the phone at 3:30 when she gets home from school and doesn't get off until after midnight. Somehow she can't understand that Mom might like to use her own phone line sometimes. Also, if by some chance, Mom does get a call Elizabeth is checking the line every 2.5 seconds to see if it's free again. This results in a phone call full of annoying clicks for Mom.
In all fairness, this may not be the boyfriend's fault entirely. But he certainly is making it worse.
