I'm disgusted with Elizabeth. For the past two nights she has spent the night with a friend. (It was supposed to be one and when I called to pick her up yesterday, she asked to stay an extra day.) I was supposed to pick her up on the way home from work which would have been fine, no big deal, but when I called from work to tell her I was on my way, she told me she wasn't ready yet. So I came on home and waited for a little for her to call me and let me know when she would be ready. At 5, I called her... still not ready. I hung up on her, got in the car (with Emily) and went and got her. Ready or not!!!
I had gotten Chinese take out for Elizabeth and myself (Emily doesn't like chinese... I don't know what's wrong with her). So Elizabeth saw fit to bitch at me about how I always say I don't want to make more than one dinner.
When we got home, she had a new CD waiting that she had asked for and I had ordered for her off of Ebay. Somehow she couldn't come up with a snippy comment to that.
Since I was very tired and she was obviously being a bitch, I went to bed with Emily (which pleased Emily very much too!) only to be woken up by Elizabeth at 1:30 am. Stereo on too loud in the living room... computer running... TV in her bedroom (on the other end of the house) running... almost every light in the house on... mess all over the kitchen and the living room (they were clean when I laid down)... laundry basket stuffed so full nothing else could be shoved in there (I finished the laundry yesterday).
I grounded her before I even went and got coffee. The worst of it is that since I'd had what is for me almost a full night's sleep, I may not be able to get back to sleep until after Emily gets up... and then I won't be able to. And it's my day off... I could have slept in for once!
On the other hand, I heard the "high 5 at 5" on the 80s radio station this evening... and they were picked out by my friend Katrina! She did good, picking some of my favorites.
Also, while looking for something entirely different on Ebay tonight (bookends, if you must know) I found a poster copy of the picture that I used on the side of my webpage. I never knew who drew it before. It's the one with the house on the hill and quilts hanging outside. AND there's a new book out by the same person that wrote "the Quiltmaker's Gift". It's called The Quiltmaker's Journey. I want one. Although after what happened at Christmas, I plan to order one for myself, I just don't know when.
