Long day, yesterday.
I had to manage the store at work. Not too bad except for the one man I had to send home because I smelled alcohol on his breath (I notice that I don't send people home for smelling like pot... just tell them to be more careful of the smell. I'm sure that says something about me.)I also had to speak to a couple of the kids about cleaning their own cars on the clock. Which is okay with me... as long as there is no customer's car on the lot. That was not always true and I did have to point out a couple of places where they were getting out of line. They thought they'd play while the cat was away... what they didn't know (but should now!) was that I'm as much of a cat as any other manager. What is it with kids that they have to test limits? I want to know...
Elizabeth called me and asked if she could go to a friend's and spend the night. So when I got home I only had to take care of Emily and get her in bed. Right as she was going to bed, 80s came for a visit. It's the first completely kid-free visit we've had in a really long time. Topics of conversation varied from what I'm going to do with my new room to how in the world he's going to get Truck legal when they start the emissions testing in April to buying a Delorian (a pure fantasy there but a fun one... there are three for sale on Ebay right now) to drug interactions and biochemistry. A fun wonderful visit. That's one of the things I love best about our friendship... we discuss such a widely varied range of topics!
This morning has been a little slow and relaxed. Waffles and a movie for Emily and some uninterrupted on line time for me. (Relatively.... I've made waffles and done two loads of laundry so far... but that's persiflage.) And not too much to have to do for the rest of the day.
