Emily got sent home from school yesterday for absolutely refusing to do as her teacher told her. Her punishment was that she didn't get to play for the rest of the day... she had to do school like work and write two apology letters (one to her teacher and one to the principal). In ink. With no mistakes. I called the doctor's office and made sure that it would not hurt to take her off the medicine she has been on for ADD (I'm still not sure that's her problem) since it is obviously not helping much if at all. We have the girls' annual physical on Friday and we'll talk more about it then. Also about Elizabeth who is afraid that she's getting shingles again.
*sigh* These girls will never let anyone walk on them, that's for sure... but it's so much harder raising strong willed intelligent girls! Fortunately, I think (I hope!) I'm up to the challenge.
The skinny on Dad-
He's been released from the hospital (again) and is now in a rehab program for the next week. By that time my brother will have him a guest room at an assisted living community in Memphis until all his things can be moved up and he can get into an apartment. So he's going to have someone watching him from here on out... thank goodness!
Before the school called me at work, I managed to finish marking the Dogwood quilt top. It's now ready to go on the frame as soon as I get the Cats off. Which should be soon.. I'm hoping to turn it for the last time today.
I was going to go job hunting but Mom requested that I stay home in case the school called again (highly unlikely in my opinion) and she needs to go to the bank. What I find irritating about this is that she could go to the bank any day of the week before 3... including today... and there is no reason for me to be staying home. But I did make the mistake of telling her that this would be the only day this month that I could effectively go... so there has to be a reason I can't. She keeps telling me that she wants me to get a better job and then making it very difficult for me to even look for one. *sigh* That's Mom all over...
On the other hand, I got a card from Coldwater Creek in the mail yesterday. It seems they're opening a retail store here and would I like a job? I will, of course, be calling them this morning. I also did put in my application at Vandy... for three jobs. Two of them I am semi-qualified for and the third I am not qualified in anyway but I would absolutely love and I can do... I just never went to school to be a librarian.
